A proven multidisciplinary approach

The method we use in developing Internet concepts is based first and foremost on an understanding of the perspective of future users. We make sure that any new Internet service is adapted to the thought processes of the various target audiences.

We create customized teams for each project and bring together recognized specialists in the relevant fields of expertise. Net² Evolution distinguishes itself through a creative process that stimulates the imagination of the specialists involved to generate innovative, socially useful solutions.

Steps of Net² evolution's method:

01 The starting point: A social issue

Net² Evolution's projects begin with a social issue that the Web has the potential to help improve.

For example, Quebec's Office de la protection du consommateur du Québec, the provincial government's consumer protection agency, engaged the expertise of Net² Evolution to help them address the following:

Issue

Consumers and merchants
Disagreements are too frequent

Exponential Internet concept

A new website for the OPC and services for smart phones.
Help consumers become better informed, and encourage merchants to better understand and respect their obligations.

02 Bring together a multidisciplinary team

A new multidisciplinary team is created for each project.

The team members are skilled professionals who have solid experience in the project's area of expertise and in the design of Internet services.

For example, for the HealthyNutritionProject.org project, whose goal is to help people eat better, Net² Evolution brought together the following specialists:

  • A team of nutrition experts, led by Angelo Tremblay of Université Laval, which is internationally recognized for its research into obesity, physiology, and nutrition.
  • Recognized experts and specialists in the following fields:
    • Culinary arts
    • Design of Internet services
    • Social media strategies
    • Interactive marketing strategies
    • Internet marketing strategies
    • Internet business plans
    • Interface ergonomics
    • Search engine optimization
    • Production of interactive video content
    • Art direction and ergonomics
    • Web technologies and relational databases

03 Establish the basic concept

Before launching into the creative process, the team has to determine the basic concept to be able to provide a direction for the project. For example, the basic concept for CooperationMedia.org emerged from the following initial problem:

Today, it is extremely difficult for filmmakers and documentary filmmakers to produce feature films and documentary films that deal with serious social issues. The basic concept established to address this problem was the following: Create a global cooperative that would invite the public to finance these film projects with small-dollar donations of between $5 to $10.

This basic idea was initially christened Cinemonde.org, but it was greatly enriched in subsequent stages of Net² Evolution's development, and today it is called CooperationMedia.org.

04 Research

The research stage differs from one project to another. However, three basic steps within this phase are common to all:

  1. The concept of a new Internet service is always founded on verified data and the behaviour of future users. No assumptions are made.
  2. A thorough analysis of the market, existing services, and the competition is conducted.
  3. An exhaustive list of tasks that the various users could want to accomplish is produced. A list of priorities is drawn up, and this list is validated during user testing of the concept prototype.

05 Scenarios, wireframes, information architecture, and visual mockups

Net² Evolution's method follows best industry practices. We distinguish ourselves in three ways:

  1. The quality of the teamwork that goes into the production of wireframes and the constant concern for creating exponential social impact. This approach generates an astonishing level of creativity.
  2. The active participation of artistic directors in the creative process. Their involvement in the evolution from wireframes to visual mockups enables us to optimize the user experience.
  3. The intensive involvement of at least one interface ergonomics expert during the creative sessions from the onset of the project.

06 Concept prototype and user testing

Net² Evolution's concept prototypes are highly advanced. They resemble the final product in every aspect, even at the visual level. Because of this, we can obtain more pertinent results from user testing.

07 Business plan and marketing

Net² Evolution works in collaboration with recognized specialists in the fields of marketing, advertising, sponsorship, search engine optimization, social media, and other areas that are specific to each project.

08 Detailed functional specifications

Net² Evolution is not a production house. The functional specifications we develop contain all the details needed for computer programming and integration firms to be able to produce the end product.

09 Project monitoring at the production stage

Net² Evolution is actively involved during the production stage to ensure that the final product complies with the specifications and that budgets are tightly controlled.
